It goes without saying that Youssou N'Dour has one of the finest, most soulful voices in Africa, if not the world, and that his live shows are exhilarating. But when it comes to recordings, his output has been patchy, from the bravely experimental Egypt to his last release, the disappointing Rokku Mi Rokka.
